The name of the main hero is Blu. He is very infrequent specie of blue Spix’s Macaw and he lives in a bookstore of Minnesota, where everybody loves him, since he is the last male of its kind in the world. The scientists find Jewel, who is a female-mascaw. She lives in Rio de Janeiro and they deliver Blu to her, expecting them to sire. Blu and Jewel fall in love, but Blu, who is not a very smart guy, wants to run away from the scientists. He is afraid to fly but his feelings towards Jewel give him boldness and courage. In fact the couple gets into a trouble sooner than anyone can expect. They get caught by illegal hunters who don’t care about their fate and who only care about money. Blu and Jewel need to escape for the second time, but this time they will be separated if they don’t succeed and besides the thieves don’t take their eyes off the couple as well as their cockatoo Nigel!

The trailer is awesome! I’ve already heard about Rio, and I’m sure this cartoon will be perfect. I would like to see Rio in 3D thou. I think it must be so much different from the regular edition…

I agree that the trailer is great, the plot and the idea is not trite, but I’m not sure about 3D. I mean it’s not some action movie with gun shooting and speeding, so the 3D effect will only impress kids. I personally plan to download Rio from the Internet. Hope to do it here. Just watch this cartoon no matter what is your age. There is nothing to add cuz this animated film is kind, exciting and simply awesome!!!
