G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes Release Date and Format

G.I. Joe 2Even though G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has become a sequel, we will see neither director Stephen Sommers nor his supporting cast in the release of G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt won’t appear in the new movie either.

Luckily, main characters are back. Ray Park will star as Snake Eyes. Lee Byung-hun will play Storm Shadow and Channing Tatum will appear aka Duke.
The movie’s shooting will start in August. However this film won’t be shot in 3D though rumors stated opposite.
Paramount has decided to bring in Jon Chu best known for directing Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. The company hopes that he can wheel the scale G.I. Joe sequel. But there is no point in making the movie in 3D even if it is shot in this high-price format. Still rumors say that Chu wishes it to be a 3D film.
The Rise of Cobra was shot in Los Angeles. Cobra Strikes will be shooting in New Orleans. Its principal photography is planned for August. This gives G.I. Joe 2 team one year to finish the film.
Since the big G.I. Joe cast is out of the new picture, we’ll most likely see a lot of casting news this summer. The sequel needs new characters and new faces they will unquestionably search for.
Many of the good old cast team isn’t back for G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. Unless it changes, we won’t see Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Christopher Eccleston as Destro, Sienna Miller as The Baroness and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as The Doctor. We won’t see Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, Said Taghmaoui as Breaker, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, Dennis Quaid as General Hawk and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty.
This is a Hasbro film. As this is one of the biggest toy makers in the world, so the more characters we get, the more toy lines and money are included.
The release day of G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes is set to August 10, 2012.
